Huge Crowd Turns Out to Support Daylin Leach in State Senate Race
KING OF PRUSSIA — Last week 350+ enthusiastic supporters packed a King of Prussia hotel ballroom to support State Representative Daylin Leach (D-Montgomery) as he kicked off his campaign for Pennsylvania’s 17th State Senate district.

"I am truly honored and humbled by this tremendous turn-out," said Leach, "and I am particularly happy to see the faces of so many new supporters.  As a Representative I have always worked hard to put my constituent services first while promoting a pro-reform, pro-environment, pro-education agenda in Harrisburg."

The boisterous crowd included retiring 17th District Senator Constance H. Williams, who introduced Daylin with a glowing endorsement and will serve as Honorary Co-chair to the campaign along with Governor Ed Rendell and US Senator Bob Casey.  Senator Williams said, “Daylin Leach is among the most dedicated, hard-working and smartest legislators that I have every known and he will serve you well.”

Also on hand to support Daylin’s campaign were Cong. Joe Sestak (D-PA-7), the campaign’s Delaware County Chair, Montgomery County Commissioner Joe Hoeffel, the campaign’s  Montgomery County chair and Cong. Allyson Schwartz (D-PA-13).

Representative Leach said that he was grateful for Senator William’s confidence.  "I have very large shoes to fill.  Connie's commitment to public service is an inspiration to me.”  Leach continued, “Among the most important things that I have learned from Senator Williams is that you have to work across party lines to get things done.  I seek the support of and will work for all people in the 17th District.  We spend too much time in partisan battles when we should be reaching out to all people to solve problems.”

Leach pledged to run a positive campaign and said that he would keep his focus where it has always been on improving public education, expanding access to healthcare, protecting our environment, reforming Harrisburg and providing effective and professional constituent services.

Leach, a graduate of Temple University and University of Houston Law School, was a practicing attorney and college professor for 17 years before being elected to the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives in 2002.  Leach lives in Upper Merion with his wife Jennifer and their two children, Brennan 6 and Justin 4.

The 17th District includes the Townships of Haverford and Radnor in Delaware County, and the Townships of East Norriton, Lower Merion, Plymouth, and Upper Merion in Montgomery County; as well as the Boroughs of Bridgeport, Conshohocken, Narberth, Norristown, and West Conshohocken).
